Drunk driver causes fatal accident in Briceni
A 33-year-old man lost his life and a woman was injured in a serious road accident. According to the press officer of the Briceni Police Station, Svetlana Talpă, the tragedy occurred on the morning of April 28, in the town of Halahora de Sus.
Law enforcement officers determined that a 30-year-old driver, who was driving a car with two passengers, lost control on a curve, hit a tree and overturned.
Following the impact, the 33-year-old passenger died on the spot, and the 35-year-old woman was transported to the hospital.
The driver was breathalyzed, the result showed a concentration of 0.87 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air. He was detained for 72 hours.
Police continue their investigations to establish all the circumstances of the accident. We remind you that in the first three months of the year, 35 people lost their lives in road accidents, according to data presented by the police.
