Passport must be valid for 90 days for travel to Israel

Moldovan citizens planning to enter the State of Israel must possess a passport that is valid for at least 90 days. Additionally, they need an ETA-IL electronic travel authorization. This authorization is valid for two years from the date of issue or until the passport expires, whichever comes first. It is important to renew the authorization if there are any changes to the holder's name, gender, citizenship, or passport information.

According to the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in the State of Israel, holding a valid Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA-IL) does not guarantee entry into Israel. Israeli authorities will decide whether to allow or deny entry at the border.

The Embassy further specifies that Moldovan citizens travelling to Israel for tourist purposes do not need an entry visa for stays of up to 90 days within 180 days. However, for trips that exceed the 90-day limit—such as work, studies, business visits, or medical treatment—Moldovan citizens must obtain an entry visa in advance.

Citizens of the Republic of Moldova who hold a valid Israeli visa in their passport may use this visa as long as their passport remains valid for at least 90 days from the date of entry into Israel.

The Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA-IL) can be obtained by following this link.

Additionally, holders of valid B1, B3, B4, A1, A2, A3, A4, and A5 visas are exempt from the need to obtain ETA-IL authorization, as stated by the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Israel.

Starting January 1, 2025, Israel will modify its entry rules for citizens of countries with which it does not have a visa regime, including citizens of the Republic of Moldova. Therefore, Moldovans wishing to visit Israel in the new year for various purposes will need to obtain electronic travel authorization (ETA-IL). As previously stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the cost of the ETA-IL authorization will be 120 lei.
