Minimum pension raised for people with at least 40 years of contributions

People with at least 40 years of contribution will benefit, starting today, from an increased minimum pension, worth 3,300 lei. A decision in this regard was approved by the Government on April 23.

Thus, people who have worked for a long time in areas such as education, agriculture, social assistance, and other sectors of the economy and benefited from low pensions due to low incomes throughout their careers will get higher pensions.

According to the Government, the National Social Insurance House will automatically adjust the pensions of eligible beneficiaries without their submitting an application.

We remind you that pensions have been indexed by 10% this year, and the coefficient is higher than the average inflation rate in 2024.

The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, promulgated at the end of February amendments to the Law on the Public Pension System, which provide for an increase in the minimum pension for people who have contributed to the social insurance system for at least 40 years. At the same time, the head of state agreed with the Government of the Republic of Moldova on indexing all pensions by 10% this year so that the increase exceeds the average inflation rate in 2024.
