Traffic restrictions in Chisinau for a sports marathon

Road traffic will be partially suspended in the center of Chisinau on May 10 and 11, the Chisinau City Hall announced. The measure was taken in the context of the "Chisinau Half Marathon" sports event.

Thus, starting from Saturday, May 10, at 8:00 PM, and until Sunday, May 11, at 8:00 PM, traffic will be prohibited on Stefan cel Mare and Sfânt Boulevard, in the area between Mitropolit G. Bănulescu-Bodoni and A. Pușkin streets. Also, on Sunday, May 11, between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM, traffic will be restricted on the section of Stefan cel Mare and Sfânt Boulevard – between Ismail str. and Toma Ciorbă str., including at adjacent intersections.

Public transport will be redirected to alternative routes, and the authorities urge citizens to consult the changes in advance to avoid inconvenience.

The sporting event is organised by the A.O. "Union of Lawyers of Moldova", in collaboration with the Chișinău City Hall.

According to specialists from the National Public Health Agency, approximately 250 cases of Lyme disease were reported in the Republic of Moldova last year, which is an increase of over 60 cases compared to 2022. Additionally, doctors note that there may be many more cases since the disease does not always show symptoms immediately, or individuals may not seek medical help in a timely manner.
