Accident in Comrat: 25-year-old woman hospitalized
A 25-year-old woman was hospitalized after being struck by a car while legally crossing the street. The incident occurred on Sunday in Comrat.
According to the police, at approximately 5:40 PM, officers from Comrat were notified of a traffic accident. Upon arriving at the scene, the law enforcement officers determined that a 35-year-old man, who was driving under the influence of alcohol (with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.97 mg/L in his exhaled air), struck a young woman who was legally crossing the street.
Following the collision, the car veered onto the wrong side of the road and subsequently crashed into another vehicle driven by a young man of the same age.
The driver was detained for 72 hours. Other circumstances are yet to be determined.
