The state will finance the publishing in other countries of books signed by authors from the Republic of Moldova
The state will finance the translation of the works of local authors into foreign languages, as well as their publication abroad. A draft law providing for this was adopted, at today's plenary session, with the vote of 65 deputies.

Thus, any publishing house from abroad, which intends to translate and publish an author from the Republic of Moldova, will be able to apply to a competition to obtain financial support from the state. "The Republic of Moldova needs visibility abroad both from a literary and a scientific point of view. However, a translation in a foreign language will not appear if the country from which this publication comes out does not take care of the appearance of this translation", added the Minister of Culture, Sergiu Prodan. Another provision of the legislative initiative refers to the fact that the Ministry of Culture will be able to finance literary and culture magazines. Accordingly, the Government will approve a framework Regulation that will provide for the financing conditions of cultural magazines, as well as the mechanism for supporting the translation and editing of books abroad.
