Romania to sign a new gas supply contract with Azerbaijan
Two companies controlled by the Romanian state and the Azerbaijani government will sign on Friday a new contract for supplying Azerbaijani natural gas, Romanian President Klaus Iohannis announced.
The contract is valid from 1 April 2023 to 1 April 2024, reports G4Media.
Both the Southern Gas Corridor and the future undersea transmission cable for electricity produced in Azerbaijan from renewable sources, projects supported by the European Commission, will contribute significantly to the European Union's energy security.
Romania is constantly seeking new sources of natural gas supply in order to overcome its dependence on Russian gas.
