Alcaraz beats Sinner, favorite for Roland Garros

Spain's Carlos Alcaraz defeated Italian world No. 1 Jannik Sinner in the final. Alcaraz won in straight sets, 7-6, 6-1, in a match lasting one hour and 43 minutes.

The 22-year-old Spaniard snapped Sinner's 26-match winning streak, handing the Italian his first loss of 2025.

The title is Alcaraz's seventh Masters crown and his first win at the event in the Italian capital.

Carlos Alcaraz, who will rise to world No. 2 in the ATP rankings today, has won 19 career titles, including three so far this year.

The Spaniard has a 16-1 record on clay this season, with his only loss coming in the final of the Barcelona tournament.

The win makes Carlos Alcaraz the top favorite for the Roland Garros Grand Slam tournament, which begins on May 25.
