Record turnout in the Republic of Moldova in the Romanian presidential elections

More than 158,000 Romanian citizens residing in the Republic of Moldova participated in the Romanian presidential elections, casting their votes in 64 polling stations set up across the country. This marks the highest number of voters registered in the Republic of Moldova for a Romanian presidential election to date.

According to the final results, candidate Nicușor-Daniel Dan received support from 88% of voters, totaling 138,320 votes. In contrast, George-Nicolae Simion garnered 18,868 votes, which accounts for 12% of the valid votes cast.

Voter turnout in the second round of voting was significantly higher than in the first round held on May 4, when approximately 91,000 Romanian citizens participated at the 64 polling stations in the Republic of Moldova.

We remind you that Nicușor-Daniel Dan emerged as the winner of the presidential elections in Romania, securing 53.60% of the valid votes cast.
