Maia Sandu and Igor Grosu congratulate Nicușor Dan: "Romania and Moldova walk together on the European path"

President Maia Sandu congratulated independent candidate Nicușor Dan on his victory in the Romanian presidential election. In a post published shortly after the results were announced, she emphasized the strong ties between Chișinău and Bucharest. Maia Sandu also expressed her gratitude to the Moldovan citizens with dual citizenship who participated in the voting process.

“Congratulations, Romania! Congratulations, Nicușor Dan! Together, Romania is confidently moving forward on its European path! The Republic of Moldova and Romania support each other—both in good times and in challenging times,” said the moldovan president.

Maia Sandu expressed her gratitude to Moldovans with Romanian citizenship, both in the country and in the diaspora, for their participation in the elections: “Dear Moldovans with Romanian citizenship, whether at home or around the world, you have once again shown a strong voice for freedom and democracy! Thank you all for your impressive turnout in the elections. The whole world witnesses the power we have when we stand united!”

Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu sent a congratulatory message following Nicușor Dan's victory in the Cotroceni election. The Moldovan official highlighted the civic engagement of Moldovans with Romanian citizenship and those in the diaspora, emphasizing the strengthening ties between the two sides of the Prut.

"We proved our unity and that we have a strong voice. The record voter turnout shows how involved our citizens are and how much we care about the future of both Romania and the Republic of Moldova. Our hearts beat with great love for the Romanian people and for the shared European future of the citizens on both banks of the Prut."
