Maia Sandu to Nicușor Dan: We'll strengthen Chișinău-Bucharest ties for a secure, prosperous future

President Maia Sandu declared that Romania can rely on the Republic of Moldova after a phone conversation with Nicușor Dan, the new leader from Cotroceni. She congratulated him on his victory in the presidential elections and reaffirmed Moldova's commitment to strengthening its close relations with Romania.
"I believe we will continue to strengthen the strong ties between Chișinău and Bucharest for a safe, free, and prosperous future for the people on both sides of the Prut," declared Maia Sandu.
Nicușor-Daniel Dan has won the presidential elections in Romania, securing 53.60% of the valid votes cast, according to the final data after the centralization of all 20,085 voting minutes.
He received support from 6,168,696 citizens, achieving a lead of over 829,000 votes over his opponent, George-Nicolae Simion, who garnered 5,338,999 votes, or 46.4%.
