Spot check at "Water-Canal". ANRE assesses the quality and continuity of water supply to Chisinau residents

The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) reports that it has investigated the situation created yesterday in the "Apă-Canal Chisinau" S.A., launching this morning an unannounced control, in order to elucidate the quality and continuity of operation of the public water supply and sewerage service in the municipality of Chisinau.

"The Agency's technicians will check the licensed activity carried out by the licensee, in the part related to ensuring compliance with the legislation in this field. In the course of time we will report on the results of the inspection", reports ANRE.

In the press release issued, ANRE claims that it dissociates itself "from any political and manipulative statements" while reiterating that it exercises its powers with the correct application of the legislation and the provision of quality services to consumers at its core.

Premier Energy cut off the electricity to the administrative block of "Apă-Canal Chisinau" on Thursday, February 2. Last night, after negotiations, the "Apă-Canal Chișinău" administrative block, which houses the control points, was reconnected to the power supply. The company has a period of five days to pay its debt to Premier Energy. The energy supplier claims that it has had to resort to disconnections in order to avoid increasing its debt, which currently stands at 68.6 million lei.
