The Border Police announced the successful completion of the bridge expansion at the "Leova–Bumbata" Border Crossing Point. They report that the crossing point is now operating normally, without any delays or restrictions for traffic participants.

The Border Police thank citizens for their patience and understanding during the construction work, emphasizing that ensuring their safety and comfort remains a top priority.

The activity of the Leova – Bumbata state border crossing point, affected by heavy rains

Due to recent heavy rainfall, the Prut River's water level has risen significantly near the Leova–Bumbata border crossing point. As a result, operations at the border crossing have been temporarily impacted. Border authorities are taking action to expand the bridge to ensure that traffic can flow safely.

The Border Police announces that the crossing point will resume its activity on Friday, May 23, 2025, but delays caused by ongoing works are possible.

To avoid possible delays, travelers are advised to use other border crossing points with Romania, such as PTF Cahul–Oancea, PTF Leușeni–Albița, or PTF Giurgiulesti–Galați.

"We thank you for your understanding and cooperation. The safety of traffic participants remains our priority," said the Border Police representatives.

The authorities announce that they will come up with updated information depending on the evolution of the situation.
