A new criminal case against Igor Dodon, his wife and a doctor

Former President Igor Dodon, his wife Galina Dodon and a doctor are suspects in a new criminal case, the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office reports. The source notes that the medical worker is suspected of forging a medical certificate.

At the same time, the former president of the country, together with his wife, are suspected of having possessed and used the alleged forged document granting rights.

On the basis of this document, Igor Dodon asked the Supreme Court of Justice judges to allow him to leave the country, the same request being submitted by the defendant Galina Dodon to the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.

Former Moldovan President Igor Dodon was due to go to Romania with his youngest son for treatment, a visit that was later postponed.

At the court hearing, at which Dodon requested permission to leave the country, he presented a medical certificate. Prosecutors later raided the Family Doctors' Centre where the certificate was allegedly issued, and the doctor who allegedly signed the document said he did not know the patient and had stamped it at the request of his colleague.

The mayor general of the capital, Ion Ceban, said that the wife of socialist Dinari Cojocaru is the family doctor of former President Igor Dodon, who would have issued him a medical certificate to go to Romania.
