Municipal Councilor Victor Chironda has resigned, citing concerns about the current leadership at City Hall. He expressed his belief that the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) has become a passive extension of the MAN party and that its operations were completely obstructed.

Victor Chironda recently shared on social media that he made efforts to propose solutions for the development of Chisinau through various projects. He stated, "There was a time when I tried to make a difference and provide solutions for Chisinau. I developed draft decisions and thoroughly analyzed each one proposed by the city hall, firmly rejecting those that did not serve the interests of the citizens."

"The councillor, in his role, did not propose any draft decisions during his time in the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC). According to the information available, the reason for this is that he accepted a position as a consultant for the Government on an external project. Everyone has the right to make their own choices, but it should be without manipulation in the public sphere," stated the Chisinau City Hall.

The former councillor did not attend the last three CMC meetings, explaining that "it is not fair to take four thousand lei per day for unproductive meetings in which nothing is decided for the citizens."

Victor Chironda began his term as a municipal councillor for the DA Platform in November 2023, replacing Dinu Plângău.

Chironda previously served as deputy mayor of Chisinau from 2019 to 2021, and he ran for mayor general in the 2023 local elections.
