Citizens are encouraged to take precautions to ensure the safety of farm and pet animals during this flood-risk period. The National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) recommends regularly checking the condition of animals and taking prompt action to prevent them from facing unnecessary dangers.

Owners of farm animals located in areas at risk of flooding must develop an emergency plan. This plan should include identifying a safe location to move the animals in the event of flooding and establishing a transport method that meets the minimum requirements for protecting the animals' welfare.

During days with a risk of flooding and extensive water accumulation, ANSA advises against grazing and housing animals, as well as tying them up, near large riverbanks.

Another critical aspect highlighted by ANSA is water quality. Heavy rains can contaminate water sources—such as rivers, ponds, and wells—with manure and chemicals, posing health risks to both people and animals. Therefore, it is important to use water from sources that are less affected by flooding.

Recent heavy rains have led to rapid vegetation growth, which can increase the risk of digestive disorders in animals. In this context, ANSA recommends that animal owners supplement their feed with dry coarse feed, such as straw or hay, in addition to regular grazing.

According to the latest hydrological warning from the State Hydrometeorological Service, by May 31, the water level in the Dubăsari town - Răscăieți village sector is expected to rise by 0.8 to 2.2 meters.

We remind you that following the heavy rains recorded across the country in the past two days, rescuers were called to pump out water accumulated in households and yards, as well as to clear trees that were downed by the wind.
