First Leopard 2 tank from Canada on its way to Ukraine
Canada shipped the first Leopard 2 tank it promised to Ukraine on Saturday, Defense Minister Anita Anand announced, quoted by AFP.
"A Canadian Air Force plane took off from Halifax with the first Leopard 2 battle tank we are donating to Ukraine. Canada stands in solidarity with Ukraine and we will continue to provide the Ukrainian armed forces with the equipment they need to win,” the minister tweeted. Canada announced in late January its decision to deliver four German-made Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, following a similar announcement by several Western countries.
