EU transport policies to enhance Moldova's safety

The implementation of European Union transport policies is expected to significantly improve the quality and safety standards of transport services for passengers in the Republic of Moldova, according to Ghenadie Marin, head of the Bureau for European Integration.
A delegation from the Bureau for European Integration is currently in Brussels to discuss how national transport policies align with European norms.
According to Ghenadie Marin, once implemented in Moldova, these community practices will also facilitate the flow of goods between Moldova and EU member states and strengthen connections with Romania and Ukraine, thereby advancing the country's integration into trans-European transport networks.
"The implementation of transport policies will enable the modernization of road, rail, air, and river transport services, enhance the quality and safety of passenger and freight transport, and promote an environmentally friendly and sustainable transport system," added Mircea Păscăluță, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development.
Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, announced that during this period, the analysis of chapters concerning Moldova's green agenda will also commence in Brussels.
"This week, we are discussing Chapter 14, transport policy, and Chapter 21 – trans-European networks, in Brussels. Concurrently, we are beginning the analysis of the group of chapters under Cluster 4: Green Agenda and Sustainable Connectivity," she stated.
The Bureau for European Integration emphasizes that Cluster 4 – "Green Agenda and Sustainable Connectivity" – is one of the most crucial in Moldova's EU accession process. By advancing this cluster, Moldova will reaffirm its commitment to its development objectives and integration into European standards.
