Avalanches in the Făgăraș Mountains in Romania: There are no Moldovan citizens stranded, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

In connection with the two large avalanches that occurred during the night in the Făgăraş Mountains in Romania, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration informs that there is no information about stranded Moldovan citizens. According to the institution's spokesperson Daniel Voda, Chisinau is in contact with the Argeș County Police Inspectorate through the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Bucharest.

Local authorities advise tourists not to leave the area. "In the case of Cabana Capra, where more than 40 tourists and 10 employees of the boarding house remain stuck, there is no information regarding their citizenship of our country, the evacuation operation being prioritized. However, everyone's condition is good, solutions have already been identified for evacuation from the site, said Daniel Vodă. The MAEIE reiterates that in case of emergency situations, Moldovan citizens should carefully follow the announcements of the local authorities and, if necessary, contact the nearest diplomatic mission for specialized consular assistance. We remind you that last night two large avalanches occurred in the Făgăraş Mountains, in Romania at over 2,000 meters altitude.
