Romania: Earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 in the Vrancea area

A surface earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 on the Richter scale occurred on Monday morning, at 3:26 local time, in the Vrancea seismic zone, Buzău county, followed by three other earthquakes with smaller magnitudes, respectively of 2.6, 2.9 and 2.7 on Richter, according to the National Research - Development Institute for Earth Physics (INCDFP), reports Agerpres.

Since the beginning of January, there have been five earthquakes in Romania, with magnitudes between 2 and 4.5 on the Richter scale. The largest earthquake of 2022 occurred on November 3 and had a magnitude of 5.4, while in 2021 an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.7 on the Richter scale was recorded on May 26.
