Moldova's EU path: Poland offers key support & expertise

Poland is a strong advocate for Moldova's European integration and a powerful voice in favor of the European Union's eastward enlargement, according to Violeta Agrici, the Moldovan Ambassador to Warsaw.
In an interview with Radio Moldova, the diplomat noted that Moldova is on Poland's agenda during its current Presidency of the EU Council, and Poland's valuable experience in post-accession reform processes is 'exceptionally useful' for our country.
Indeed, Poland is one of the initiators of the Eastern Partnership and a trusted supporter of Moldova and Ukraine on their European path. The current geopolitical context, marked by Russia's aggression against Ukraine, has accelerated the need to offer clear perspectives and consistent support to Eastern neighboring states aspiring to European integration. Poland understands the importance of regional stability and security and considers EU enlargement a strategic tool for achieving these objectives. Moldova is benefiting from a historic window of opportunity, and Poland is and will continue to stand by us in this endeavor," the Ambassador affirmed confidently.
Violeta Agrici added that Moldova wishes to adopt best practices from Poland in areas such as infrastructure, transport, energy, digitalization, agriculture, rural development, internal affairs, migration management, among others.
"In all these areas, Poland has shown openness to provide support to the Republic of Moldova," Ambassador Violeta Agrici further stated in the interview given to journalist Anatol Caciuc from Radio Moldova.
It's worth noting that Poland assumed the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union on January 1, 2025, and will hand over the baton to Denmark on July 1 this year.
