Natalia Gavrilița requested EU support for reforms in the energy field

The Republic of Moldova continues to make reforms in the energy field, to diversify its natural gas and electricity supply sources, but it still needs the support of the European Union to find affordable alternatives, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița said in Brussels at the meeting with the European Commissioner for Energy, Kadri Simson.

The head of the executive also referred to the identification of financial instruments, including grants for the advancement of several projects - the construction of the Bălti-Suceava high-voltage line, the increase in the amount of renewable energy produced in the country, but also the realization of an extensive energy efficiency program in public buildings and residential blocks, informs the media service of the Government. Also, Natalia Gavrilița expressed gratitude to the community block for the last aid of 250 million euros - recently announced financial assistance for the energy sector. This money will go to replenish the Energy Vulnerability Fund, through which gas and electricity compensations are granted. We remind you that between February 4-8, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița is on a working visit to Brussels, where she will participate in the 7th meeting of the European Union - Republic of Moldova Association Council.
