More than half of Transnistrian exports go to the EU

Over 67% of goods exported from Transnistria reached the European Union in 2022, the Office of Integration Policies reports, stating that it was a significant increase of approximately 10% in contrast to 2021.

Moreover, the Transnistrian region registered an increase in the import of goods from the EU by 4.4% in 2022, which is a little over 50%.

The five main EU destinations with whom Transnistria concluded more than 80% of its economical transactions, import and export, are: Romania, Poland, Italy, Germany and Slovakia.

Thus, according to the source, there is an increasingly upward dynamic of import-export commercial operations, conducted by Transnistrian economic agents, registered with the Public Services Agency and which are primarily oriented towards the member states of the European Union (EU).

The data from the State Register of Legal Entities and Individual Entrepreneurs show also that on January, 1st, 2023, more than 2,300 economic agents from the Transnistrian region were already registered with the ASP subdivisions, including 1,850 ones provisionally.
