The sixth meeting of the CSP, postponed due to lack of quorum

The sixth meeting of the Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP) was postponed this morning due to lack of quorum. The members of the Superior Council of Prosecutors were to examine, today, 11 subjects, including the order of the interim Prosecutor General regarding the interim provision of the position of deputy prosecutor - head of the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS).

CSP President Angela Motuzoc announced that not all CSP members came to the planned meeting and warned colleagues who are absent that they have responsibilities and must honor their service obligations. "We have four members of the Superior Council of Prosecutors in the room. At the same time, in online format we have Lilia Potîng, Svetlana Balmus and Dorel Musteață. As you can see, we do not have a quorum and again we are unable to hold this meeting. We make a public appeal to our colleagues in the CSP to show more respect towards prosecutors. Because, in fact, they work and are paid by CSP. This situation becomes incomprehensible and only society remains to draw its conclusions in this case", said Motuzoc. The Minister of Justice, Sergiu Litvinenco, the ombudsman Ceslav Panico and member appointed by the Parliament, from the civil society, Andrei Cebotari, were also absent from the meeting. The next meetings are set for February 15 and 17.
