Natalia Gavrilița: We have enough gas in stocks for two winter months
The Republic of Moldova has about 230 million cubic metres of natural gas stored in Romania and Ukraine. This volume would be enough for two winter months, said Natalia Gavrilița. The Prime Minister also said that during the last month savings of around 30 million cubic metres of natural gas were recorded.
"These 30 million cubic metres, which our people saved, were stored in Ukraine. All the actions we take in the energy field allow us to access these resources every day, even if "Gazprom" has cut off the necessary quantities. We only receive less than 50% of the quantities we need. This is below 50% of the amounts we received last year. We have 230 million already in stock, which allows us to get through two months of winter, even if the entire quantity is interrupted tomorrow," said Natalia Gavrilița.
TRM.MD recalls that since October, "Gazprom" has reduced the volumes of natural gas supplied to the Republic of Moldova. Currently, the Russian concern delivers a total volume of 5.7 million cubic metres of gas per day, which is about 60 percent less than the amount needed by our country.
