The US administration is "deeply concerned" about the risks of destabilization of the Republic of Moldova

The Joe Biden administration is "deeply concerned" by the risks of destabilization of the Republic of Moldova by Russia and stands in solidarity with the Moldovan people, the presidency in Washington announces, as a reaction to the activities reported by President Maia Sandu, notes Mediafax.

The information regarding actions aimed at destabilizing the Republic of Moldova are "deeply concerning", said John Kirby, the coordinator for Strategic Communication of the National Security Council at the White House, quoted by Reuters and BBC News.

John Kirby said that while the alleged plot had not been independently confirmed, the actions would not, "categorically", be "out of the pattern of Russian behaviour".

"Absolutely, we stand with the Moldovan Government Administration and the Moldovan people," John Kirby emphasized.

On Monday, President Maia Sandu said that Russia intends to remove power from Chisinau through violent actions, with the involvement of people from outside the country, stressing that these actions will not be successful. "The Kremlin's attempts to bring violence to our country will not succeed. Let's keep calm, let's believe in the Republic of Moldova", concluded Maia Sandu.
