Reactions following the signing of a new contract with MGRES for the supply of electricity for the right bank of the Nistru
The decision of the authorities to cede the entire volume of gas, 5.7 million cubic meters per day, to the Transnistrian region in exchange for the purchase of electricity from the Cuciurgan Power Plant, including to ensure both banks with electricity is criticized, both by experts, politicians and civil society.

Former presidential adviser Ion Păduraru emphasized in a message on social networks that it is an error to believe that Gazprom will not ask Moldova-Gaz to pay for the gas delivered to the Transnistrian region, but the buyer is not Tiraspol but MoldovaGaz. The former deputy of the DA Platform, Alexandru Slusari, claims that the price of 73 dollars per MW/h of electricity from Cuciurgan is only 20 percent less than the electricity contracted in Romania. He also said that the electricity tariff will only decrease to 4.5 lei for 1 KW/h. According to him, by signing this contract, the constitutional authorities have given everything to the Russian enclave, which was already in agony, referring to the economic crisis of the Transnistrian region following the previous suspension of gas deliveries to the left bank. After the wave of reactions, the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spînu responded to the criticisms brought to him, describing them as "a lot of noise". We remind you that "Energocom" concluded an electricity supply contract with the Cuciurgan plant in December at the price of 73 US dollars/MWh. According to Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spînu, citizens will pay less for electricity, CSE and ANRE will decide on the electricity tariff reduction. At the same time, he assured that with the signing of this contract, the risk of massive disconnections from electricity is reduced.
