Centru Court of Appeal postponed, for the second time, the hearing in the case initiated by the Intelligence and Security Service (SIS) against the "Eurasia" organization. Initially scheduled to take place on October 6 and then on October 20, the hearing was postponed again today, for November 14.

Representatives of “Eurasia” did not appear at the hearing in which the judges were to analyze the request of the Intelligence and Security Service to recognize the organization as “extremist”. As a result, the hearing was postponed to November 14.

In a report on foreign interference in the presidential elections and the 2024 referendum, SIS claims that “Eurasia” was used by fugitive oligarch Ilan Shor to coordinate subversive influence projects against the Republic of Moldova.

This association, based in Moscow and founded by Nelli Parutenco, the former accountant of fugitive convict Ilan Shor, was involved in the scheme of buying votes in last year’s elections and in preparing for destabilization in the Republic of Moldova.

The request to recognize the organization as extremist was registered in court on July 25 of this year.

"Eurasia", subject to international sanctions

We remind you that the "Eurasia" organization is a Russian non-governmental entity, sanctioned in 2024 and 2025 by the European Union, the United States and the United Kingdom. According to international authorities, it promoted Russian propaganda, including among minors, was used to channel funds from Russia and from Ilan Shor to the Republic of Moldova, organized the transportation of young Moldovans to Russia to be "educated" in a pro-Kremlin spirit and was involved in schemes to bribe voters in the presidential elections and the referendum for European integration last year.

At the same time, "Eurasia" financed the trips to Russia of Moldovan priests, trained parishioners to vote in the elections last fall for candidates approved by Moscow.

The sanctions include an asset freeze for the Russia-based organization, as well as travel bans for its founder, Nelli Parutenco, and board member, Natalia Parasca.

If the court grants SIS’s request, “Eurasia” will become the first organization based in the Russian Federation to be declared “extremist” in the Republic of Moldova.
