Maia Sandu met in Munich with her counterpart from Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda

The security situation in the region, in the context of the war in Ukraine, was the topic of discussion between the head of state Maia Sandu and her Lithuanian counterpart, Gitanas Nausėda. The two met during the Munich Security Conference, which is attended by several European leaders.

The President of the Republic of Moldova appreciated the dialogue between our countries in several sectors, noting that there is good bilateral cooperation in the field of defense and internal affairs, as well as the Lithuanian contribution to strengthening the capacities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration. We remind that President Maia Sandu and the Minister of Internal Affairs, Ana Revenco, are participating in the Security Conference in Munich, together with 45 heads of state and government, as well as over 70 ministers. The 59th meeting of the forum, which began on Friday and will run until Sunday, February 19, will provide a platform for high-level discussions on the biggest foreign and security policy challenges of this period . At the same time, almost a year after Russia's aggression in Ukraine, the political commitment of the world community to the rules-based international order will be discussed.
