Volodymyr Zelenski, in Munich, warns about Russia's plans to destabilize the situation in the Republic of Moldova

While Ukraine's allies are discussing tank deliveries, the Kremlin is thinking of ways to "strangle" the Republic of Moldova, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said at the Munich Security Conference bringing together more than 45 world leaders and more than 80 of Foreign and Defense Ministers. Also, Volodymyr Zelensky requested the West to provide armaments to Ukraine as soon as possible.

"Unfortunately, Putin has potential, he is trying to buy extra time to secure his income to invest in weapons, he can destroy many more lives, that's why we need to hurry, we need speed, to approve the agreements quickly, arms deliveries to strengthen us, to limit Russian potential. There is no alternative to speed because on speed depends the delay of life. It was and is a mistake to delay providing weapons to Ukraine while we negotiate how to strengthen our defenses with modern tanks. Putin is thinking of strangling the Republic of Moldova, while we are trying to convince that Ukraine needs modern fighter jets," said Volodymyr Zelenskiy. At the same time, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that Germany is helping and will help Ukraine, and today Berlin is supplying state-of-the-art weaponry, ammunition and other military goods. French President Emmanuel Macron has called on allies to step up military support for Ukraine to help the country prepare for a counter-offensive. Emmanuel Macron also said Russia's attack on Ukraine happened in the shadow of nuclear weapons and called for a dialogue involving NATO, UK and the US on the "nuclear characteristics of our alliance". The French leader proposed a conference on air defense in Europe, with states including UK, France and Germany.
