Regional security, discussed at committee meetings of the 10th session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly
Around 100 officials from the Eastern Partnership countries and members of the European Parliament are participating in the 10th session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly (AP Euronest), which is being held these days in Chisinau. Topics discussed include the consequences of the Russian Federation's invasion of Ukraine, security challenges, economic integration, and energy security.

The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova hosts for the first time the session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly. It started with the committee meetings: Committee on Political Affairs, Human Rights and Democracy, Committee on Economic Integration, Legal Approximation and Convergence with European Union Policies, Committee on Energy Security, Committee on Social Affairs, Education, Culture and Civil Society. Within them, the reports on political affairs, economic integration, energy security and social aspects were adopted. Other subjects discussed by the parliamentarians concerned the progress made by the Republic of Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine in the European course, as well as the fight against disinformation in the countries of the Eastern Partnership. On Monday, February 20, the inauguration of the 10th session of AP Euronest will take place. The Euronest Parliamentary Assembly was established on May 3, 2011 in Brussels, when the presidents of the parliaments of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and the European Union signed the Constitutive Act of the Assembly. The mission of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly is to promote the necessary conditions for boosting political association and economic integration between the EU and the Eastern European partners, to strengthen cooperation in the region, as well as between the region and the EU. The multilateral assembly contributes to the consolidation, development and increase of the visibility of the Eastern Partnership.
