At least six deaths, hundreds of wounded and collapsed buildings after the earthquake that shook southern Turkey yesterday

At least six people lost their lives as a result of the earthquake that occurred last night in Turkey, according to the last balance presented by the Ankara authorities. Last night's earthquake, with a magnitude of 6.4, was also felt in Syria, Egypt and Lebanon.

The Turkish Minister of Health, Fahrettin Koca, announced that 294 people were injured, 18 of whom are in very serious health condition. The patients were evacuated from some sanitary units that remained in operation after the massive earthquakes two weeks ago, because cracks in buildings appeared, the minister said.

In the city of Samandag, where the disaster management authority and emergency situations in Turkey, AFAD, had announced on Monday that one person has died, the inhabitants said several buildings have collapsed.

We recall that a new earthquake rocked Turkey and Syria on the evening of yesterday, February 20, two weeks after the devastating earthquakes that shook Turkey and Syria on February 6, causing the death of at least 47 thousand people.
