Over 1,500 participate in Christmas Family Run Chișinău

Over 1,500 children, accompanied by their parents, participated in the 3-kilometer race of the Christmas Marathon Chișinău, 2025 edition.
The heart of the Moldovan capital, Chișinău, was transformed into a festive, joyful course where running mixed with music, entertainment, and the spirit of the winter holidays. Many participants came in costumes; Santa Claus, reindeer, and fairy tale characters launched the Family Fun Run on its way.
"We want to create a wonderful Christmas atmosphere for all the children and enjoy happy holidays together," said one young participant. When asked how far he would run, the child answered sincerely: "As far as I can go."
The event was a true family celebration. "We are here today to celebrate the start of the winter holidays. I came with my family and it's wonderful that we can all run together," a mother commented.
Some children drew attention with their creative, unique costumes. "I love running; we're athletes, and we always run for our health. Today I'm dressed as a cookie. Mom is a reindeer, and Dad is the Grinch," a boy recounted, smiling.
Other runners offered humorous explanations for their costumes. "I used to eat cookies, but now they've started getting stubborn and running away. That's why I came to chase the cookie, catch him, and finally eat him," joked another child.
Along the course, participants received treats and small gifts. They returned to the starting point with small sacks brimming with treats. "Children and older people train, run a significant distance, and in the end, everyone receives plenty of gifts," a participant mentioned.
The Chișinău Charity Event also hosted 100 children from disadvantaged backgrounds, who were specially invited by the organizers. "In every edition, we choose whom to support. This year, we brought 100 children from the Social School program for disadvantaged youth. They are on the route to collect gifts and will later receive special presents from partners to help them with their learning and life journey," declared Dimitrii Voloșin, the event organizer.
Now in its 8th edition, the Christmas Marathon Chișinău has become an annual symbol of solidarity, generosity, and the joy of coming together before the holidays.
