Moldova's Alina Stremous ranks 18th with perfect shooting

Moldovan athlete Alina Stremous secured a notable Top-20 finish in the pursuit event at the Biathlon World Cup stage held in the Austrian resort of Hochfilzen. Stremous ranked 18th in the challenging 10-kilometer race.

The biathlete was timed at 30 minutes and 7.5 seconds, with her performance defined by extraordinary accuracy. She achieved a perfect shooting record (zero misses) across all four stages, a critical factor in the pursuit event.

This 18th place finish marks the highest-ranked performance this season by any athlete on the national Biathlon team, a significant achievement for the small Republic of Moldova. At the same Hochfilzen World Cup stage, Stremous also placed 25th in the 7.5-kilometer sprint event.

Earlier this season, Stremous demonstrated her strong form by winning the silver medal in the sprint event at the inaugural stage of the IBU Cup, the second-tier international biathlon competition. That race took place in the Obertillach resort in the Austrian Alps.

Alina Stremous has already secured her qualification for the Milano/Cortina Olympic Games. The next Biathlon World Cup stage is scheduled for December 18-21 in the French resort of Annecy-Le Grand Bornand.
