Green House program helps 516 people rehabilitate their homes with state grants

A total of 516 homeowners are receiving financial assistance from the state to improve the energy efficiency of their homes. Casa Verde is offering grants covering up to 50% of the cost of eligible work, with a maximum of 200,000 lei.

In the first edition of the Green House financing product, launched in July of this year, authorities received 745 applications for 2025, of which 516 were approved for funding. The allocated budget for this initiative is 149 million lei.

Green House is a financing instrument developed as part of the governmental Energy Efficiency Fund in the Residential Sector of Moldova (FEERM). Its purpose is to enhance home comfort, reduce energy consumption, and lower monthly expenses. This initiative plays a role in the Republic of Moldova’s transition towards responsible and sustainable consumption.

The program supports a variety of measures designed to improve the energy performance of homes. These measures include thermal insulation of external walls, roofs, and floors; replacing windows and doors with energy-efficient models; modernizing heating systems—including the installation of heat pumps; installing ventilation systems with heat recovery; installing solar panels (with or without storage systems); and other modern equipment aimed at reducing energy consumption.

Priority for funding is given to projects that directly enhance a home's energy efficiency. The installation of photovoltaic panels is eligible for funding only after essential renovations such as thermal insulation of the building envelope and replacement of windows have been completed.

All work must be carried out by authorized companies registered on the FEERM platform to ensure quality.

Eligible applicants include individuals who own the property for which they are seeking financing, households with at least one minor child, and homes registered in the Real Estate Register as individual residential houses or houses under construction, provided they have updated technical documentation.

Registration for the program is conducted exclusively online through the feerm.md platform, and it is only available during the publicly announced application period by the National Center for Sustainable Energy.
