Japan is the third donor to the Republic of Moldova, providing support in various forms, which helps to improve the quality of public services, increase the performance of the agricultural sector and develop the economy. The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, discussed the intensification of cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and Japan last week in Tokyo with the Prime Minister of Japan and other officials.

Requested by Radio Moldova, the Republic of Moldova's ambassador to Japan, Dumitru Socolan, referred to some areas for which the Tokyo Government offered grants this year. “A grant was awarded to improve firefighting equipment. With regard to renewable energy, the grant was awarded for the construction of the pellet production factory in the Republic of Moldova and the installation of boilers in several localities in the country to provide thermal energy to social institutions, including schools", said the ambassador. We remind you that on December 3, President Maia Sandu participated in the conference of the World Assembly for Women, organized by the Government of Japan, on the sidelines of which she had bilateral meetings with several Japanese officials. She also met with members of the Moldovan community in Japan. Between December 5-7, the leader from Chisinau will be in Washington, where she will participate in the International Anti-Corruption Conference, within the Summit for Democracy. President Maia Sandu will talk with leaders of several states and will have a meeting with representatives of the Moldovan diaspora in the United States.
