Nearly 250 patients with special needs received free dental care in 2025

For over a year and a half, individuals with special needs have been able to receive free dental treatment under general anesthesia. This service is available for both children and adults. Since the beginning of this year, nearly 250 patients have benefited from dental care provided in this way.
Free dental care, under general anesthesia, is available for children at the Mother and Child Institute within the "Emilian Coțaga" Republican Clinical Hospital for Children and for adults at the Institute of Emergency Medicine.
Since the beginning of 2025, this service has benefited 89 adults and 155 children.
According to the Ministry of Health, the three medical institutions chosen to implement the program have the necessary resources to provide high-quality medical care to individuals with special needs.
The National Health Insurance Company fully covers the costs of treatment.
To access the service, parents or guardians must schedule an appointment in advance and provide the patient's medical history.
Children with special needs can be scheduled at the "Emilian Coțaga" Republican Clinical Hospital for Children from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM. The contact number is 0 (22) 72 81 14.
Adults with disabilities can schedule appointments at the Republican Center for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, located within the Institute of Emergency Medicine, from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. The contact numbers are 0 (22) 25 07 61, 0 (22) 25 08 51, and 0 (22) 94 43 17.
This service has been operational since June 2024.
