Superior Council of Prosecutors has re-elected Dumitru Obadă as president

Dumitru Obadă was re-elected as the president of the Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP) on December 23. His current term, which began when he first assumed the position, will now continue for the next two years, expiring on January 3, 2026.
The election for the new CSP president was held in secret, with Obadă receiving unanimous support from all 11 Council members. He was officially elected CSP president on January 3, 2024, following a vote by nine members.

Dumitru Obadă has been serving as a prosecutor since 2012. On April 29, 2021, he was appointed Chief Prosecutor of the Criminological Analysis, Advisory, and Legislative Proposals Section within the Directorate for Policies, Reforms, and Protection of Society's Interests at the Prosecutor General's Office.
In June 2022, Obadă was appointed by the Government as the Government Agent of the Republic of Moldova before the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR). He resigned from this position in mid-December 2023.
In April 2023, the Pre-Vetting Commission confirmed that Dumitru Obadă met the criteria for ethical and financial integrity.
