Diplomatic Bazaar in Brussels commemorated at a cultural event in Chișinău

A retrospective event dedicated to the Brussels Diplomatic Bazaar was held in Chisinau. Cultural advocates from the Republic of Moldova, who had participated in events organized by the embassies of Moldova and Romania in Belgium, reminisced about the most memorable moments from their heartfelt gatherings in 2025.

Olga Triboi attended the event "Queen's Heart in the Heart of Europe" in Brussels, where she showcased royal attire.
Fashion designer Cristina Luchița commented, "It's a reinterpretation of Queen Mary's costume. We must remember that Queen Mary elevated our traditional folk costume to royal status. We incorporated the colors red and black, along with gold thread."
Olga Triboi expressed her excitement about the event, stating, "It was extraordinary preparing these monologues to understand what I could say. I am an actress at the 'M. Eminescu' National Theatre, but being Queen Maria in Brussels was a true pleasure."
Liubovi Cibotaru, the event organizer, added, "This event took place in the same building where Queen Maria came to greet Europe a hundred years ago. We gathered here to reflect on the past and generate new ideas for next year."

The diplomatic bazaar held on December 6 in Brussels was dedicated to the late composer Eugen Doga.
“We collaborated extensively with the diplomatic corps to organize a special evening celebrating the master’s art,” said Viorica Doga, the daughter of master Eugen Doga.
“I have been invited to this event several times. I am pleased that the diplomatic bazaar offers various opportunities, both in Brussels and now in Chișinău, for us to meet and enjoy what we have accomplished together,” emphasized ethnographer Varvara Buzilă, a doctor of philology.
“I participated alongside Florina Breazu, showcasing the paintings she created and the book she illustrated for me, titled 'Sânziene.' It was a unique experience,” mentioned poet Radmila Popovici.
The diplomatic bazaar in Brussels is organized by the embassies of Romania and the Republic of Moldova in Belgium.
“These activities serve several key objectives. Firstly, they aim to bring together our citizens, both those residing in Belgium and those with Romanian and Belgian citizenship. Ultimately, the goal is to support the Republic of Moldova’s accession to the European Union,” explained Viorel Cibotaru, the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Belgium.
The festive atmosphere was enhanced by Diana Caisîn's paintings, currently on display in Belgium.
“We are part of Europe; we have this culture and this spirit. Art knows no borders,” stated fine artist Diana Caisîn.

In 2026, one of the meetings at the Brussels Diplomatic Bazaar will focus on the Romanian cobza, which was recently added to UNESCO's Representative List.
