The Republic of Moldova reaffirmed its solidarity with the Ukrainian people within the UN
The Republic of Moldova reiterated its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and pleaded for the immediate end of the war of aggression and the withdrawal by Russia of its military forces from the territory of Ukraine. The position was expressed by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Ruslan Bolbocean, during the 11th special emergency session of the UN General Assembly on Ukraine, which resumed its work in New York.
In his speech, the official referred to the fact that the unjust and unprovoked war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine threatened not only the integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, but also destabilized European security, undermining the international legal order through the flagrant and continuous violation of the UN Charter and the principles of international and humanitarian law. Moreover, the Moldovan official reiterated our country's international commitment to provide protection to Ukrainian refugees. He also expressed the openness of the Republic of Moldova to continue providing humanitarian support to Ukraine and facilitating the transit of goods.
