The investment aims to drastically reduce energy expenses during the cold season while maintaining a stable thermal environment.

The renovation, part of a national energy efficiency initiative, provided external insulation for the Gadîrca family home. Previously, the family relied on coal for heating, spending approximately €560 (11,000 MDL) per season.

The total cost of the specialized works amounted to €23,000 (approx. 450,000 MDL). Under the program's favorable terms, the homeowner contributed only €1,070 (21,000 MDL) toward the project.

"We usually burn two tons of coal per winter. Since the insulation was completed, the house retains heat from evening until morning," Gadîrca noted. He emphasized that without state support, such a comprehensive modernization would have been financially impossible for his growing family.

These rehabilitations are managed through the Residential Energy Efficiency Fund in Moldova. The program offers three distinct financing products tailored to different categories of beneficiaries, focusing on windows, doors, and thermal insulation.

In 2026, the National Center for Sustainable Energy (CNED) plans to expand these efforts. The "Casa Verde" (Green House) initiative has been allocated 200 million MDL to support approximately 1,000 new beneficiaries.
