About one million Ukrainian citizens have entered the Republic of Moldova since the beginning of the war in Ukraine
Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, about one million Ukrainian citizens entered the Republic of Moldova. According to the data provided by the Border Police, 698,594 people entered through the Moldovan-Ukrainian sector, 119,200 through the Moldovan-Romanian sector, and 119,774 by plane.
Out of the total number of Ukrainian citizens who entered our country - 833,557 Ukrainians left the Republic of Moldova. As of February 22, 2023, there were still 104,011 Ukrainians on the territory of our country, including 48,417 minors, 38,614 women and 16,980 men. At the same time, when crossing the border of the Republic of Moldova with Ukraine during the period in question, a number of 209,236 Ukrainians presented themselves as pedestrians. As for the transport flow, from February 24, 2022 to February 22, 2023, 129,745 vehicles with Ukrainian registration numbers were recorded at the Moldovan-Ukrainian border, on the way of entering the country, of which 10,094 are in present on the territory of our state. The border police state that the busiest days, when a large number of travelers of Ukrainian citizenship were recorded, were between February 25 and March 10, 2022. We remind you that tomorrow, February 24, it will be one year since the beginning of the war launched by Russia against Ukraine. Since then, a state of emergency was introduced in our country, which continues to this day. The Extraordinary Situations Commission approved a series of measures to effectively manage the migration flow.
