Maia Sandu’s 2025 wealth: unchanged assets, lower savings

President Maia Sandu's properties remained unchanged in 2025, while her salary increased, according to the asset declaration submitted to the National Integrity Authority (ANI). The document reveals that Maia Sandu still owns the same real estate as in previous years, but her savings are noticeably more modest compared to what she reported at the start of her first term.

According to the asset declaration, Maia Sandu received a salary of 269,333 lei from the Presidency in 2025, which translates to an average monthly remuneration of approximately 22,400 lei. In that same year, the head of state also received 55,065 lei in payments for unused leave accrued from 2020 to 2024, as well as 154,057 lei in daily allowances for official trips abroad.

Additionally, in 2025, the president declared 67,190 lei as compensation for moral damage, which was paid through a bailiff.

Regarding savings, the declaration shows a single bank account at a financial institution in Chisinau, with a balance of 21,324 lei.

The president continues to declare only one apartment, measuring 74.5 square meters, which was purchased in 2003. This remains the only real estate asset listed in the wealth declarations submitted during her tenure as head of state.

In comparison, upon taking office, Maia Sandu had declared several accounts and assets, including a bank account in the Republic of Moldova, a bank deposit in the United States with savings of over 21,000 dollars, and a car, which she sold in 2023 for 8,000 euros.
