About 8,000 books were collected by the Government as part of the “Library under the Christmas Tree” campaign

During December 2025, hundreds of employees from public institutions, private companies, and non-governmental organisations donated approximately 8,000 books as part of the fourth edition of the "Library under the Christmas Tree" campaign organised by the government.
According to a press release from the Government, the collected books will be distributed to 85 school libraries, four kindergartens, and two placement centers for the elderly in the Republic of Moldova.
“With the support of the Moldovan Post, we will send them throughout the country, categorizing the volumes by age group,” said Elisabeta Braguța, the Government's communications advisor, in a statement to Moldova 1 TV.
The organizers aim to reach localities that have not previously benefited from books collected as part of this campaign.
“We are ensuring that we reach the villages of the Republic of Moldova, where libraries have fewer volumes compared to those in cities,” added Elisabeta Braguța.
The “Library under the Christmas Tree” campaign was launched in 2022 with the goal of promoting education, reading, and access to culture among children. Over the course of four years, approximately 25,000 books have been collected during this campaign.
