Customs Service welcomes new deputy director Ana Luca

Ana Luca was appointed as the new deputy director of the Customs Service. She previously served as the deputy secretary general of the Ministry of Finance and was officially introduced to the staff on January 12.

The new Deputy Director was introduced to the team by the Minister of Finance, Andrian Gavriliță, along with the Director of the Customs Service, Radu Vrabie.

Andrian Gavriliță wished Ana Luca success in her new role and expressed his belief that, alongside the other two recently appointed Deputy Directors, Carolina Gargaun and Viorel Doagă, she will play a vital role in the development of the customs system. He highlighted the importance of efficiently implementing the reforms undertaken and advancing strategic objectives, including the customs dimension of the European integration agenda.

Radu Vrabie also shared his confidence that Ana Luca’s professional experience will facilitate the coherent implementation of institutional policies, improve operational activities, and align the Customs Service with European standards.

In her inaugural statement as Deputy Director, Ana Luca expressed gratitude for the trust placed in her. She acknowledged that she is stepping into her role during a period of institutional transformation and reaffirmed her commitment to modernizing and developing the Customs Service.

Ana Luca holds a master's degree in Management and Fiscal Financial Law and has over 13 years of experience in public service.

She began her career in 2011 as a lawyer and joined the Customs Service in 2012, where she served as the Head of the Internal Audit Department until her appointment as Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance in July 2023.

Throughout her career, Ana Luca has been actively involved in all internal processes of the Customs Service and played a key role in promoting the new Customs Code of the Republic of Moldova, ensuring alignment with EU requirements.
