National video essay competition for youth from Moldova and the diaspora

Young people both within the country and in the diaspora are encouraged to participate in the National Video Essay Contest titled "Discover My Community," launched by the Ministry of Education and Research. The competition will run from January 9 to February 9, 2026, and is designed for individuals who wish to promote the values and heritage of their communities of origin.

The initiative is organized by the Public Association "Institutum Virtutes Civilis" with support from the Soros Foundation Moldova and in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Culture, as part of the project "Moldova - Home for All".

The competition aims to engage young people aged 14 to 25 in promoting the cultural heritage, traditions, local values, and tourism potential of their communities.

Participants are encouraged to create video essays lasting between one and three minutes. In these essays, they should highlight the traditions, landscapes, and cultural or tourism sites that reflect the uniqueness and character of their locality, while also strengthening a sense of community belonging.

Submissions can be made in Romanian, Russian, Ukrainian, or Gagauz.
