MEP: Russia has the obligation to stop the war immediately or it will be stopped by the victory of Ukraine

The war in Ukraine can be stopped if the Russian Federation wanted it, but Russia does not want peace and is killing Ukrainian citizens, Romanian MEP Siegfried Muresan said in a special edition on Radio Moldova. According to the MEP, if the Kremlin does not want to put an end to this war, it will be stopped by the victory of Ukraine and the defeat of Russia.

"If Russia wanted peace, it would not have killed civilians, innocent people in Ukraine. Russia wanted this conflict, Russia started this war, as such Russia has an obligation to stop it immediately or it will be stopped by the victory of Ukraine and the defeat of the Russian Federation, but especially at one year since the beginning of the war, our thought must either to the people of Ukraine. It must be a thought of thanks, because the fight of the people of Ukraine is also important for the Republic of Moldova and for Europe. The Ukrainians keep the dangers away from the territory of the Republic of Moldova and for that we have to thank them", said Siegfried Muresan. We note that today, February 24, marks one year since the beginning of the war launched by Russia against Ukraine. This war has generated an unprecedented humanitarian crisis throughout the region. Under these circumstances, the Republic of Moldova assumed the management of the enormous flow of refugees, especially Ukrainian citizens, coming to our country. Thus, between February 24, 2022 and February 22, 2023, more than 937 thousand citizens of Ukraine entered the Republic of Moldova.
