Internships in Moldova for young Europeans: Government approves France volunteering program

The Republic of Moldova and France are initiating an international volunteering program in enterprises, which will offer young people from the European Economic Area, including France, the opportunity to complete professional internships in Moldova. These activities will take place at the branches of French companies within Moldova or at their partner organizations. The agreement was approved by the Government during a meeting on January 14.
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Daniella Misail-Nichitin, announced during a recent meeting that young people aged 18 to 28 are eligible for internships.
"By implementing this agreement, both young individuals and the business community will reap several benefits, including enhanced professional training through the transfer of knowledge and best practices, the development of local talent, and collaboration in mixed teams," emphasized Daniella Misail-Nichitin.
Furthermore, the minister highlighted that the program's implementation will make the Republic of Moldova more attractive to French companies and promote foreign direct investment in the local private sector.
The Moldovan authorities have committed to providing residence permits or resident cards to program participants for the duration of their internships, based on the verbal notes exchanged through the Embassy of the French Republic in Chisinau.
This program was initiated through an exchange of notes between the governments of Moldova and France, formalized in Chisinau on November 20, 2025. The agreement will take effect once the Government's decision is published in the Official Gazette.
We remind you that the European Economic Area includes all member states of the European Union, as well as three countries from the European Free Trade Association: Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein.
