Opinions // A year after the war, no surprises from the Russian Federation
Today, one year after the war in Ukraine, Vladimir Putin will no longer surprise us with anything, he will no longer make any statements, as he did a year ago. Political commentator from Bucharest, Claudiu Degeratu, shares this opinion. In the opinion of analyst Mihai Mogîldea, the surprise could come if Russia proposes a peace agreement.
"I don't think we will have a surprise announcement. In my opinion, Vladimir Putin is far from using such statements anymore because he no longer has that surprise factor. The declaration itself of February 2022 was actually a signal in which the use of the element of surprise was attempted. At this moment, Vladimir Putin is no longer in a position to make such statements, because the situation on the ground is not very good for the Russian forces", said Claudiu Degeratu.
The political analyst from Chisinau, Mihai Mogîldea, is of the opinion that today nothing special will happen on the Ukrainian front, all that can happen is that Vladimir Putin signs some less important decrees.
"From the dynamics of the fighting on the Ukrainian front, I don't think there will be any surprise at the level of military fighting. Maybe there will be a new decision announced by the Russian president or maybe he will come with another approach related to the war, maybe a potential peace agreement proposed by the Russians, but otherwise I don't see what surprises could arise", said political analyst Mihai Mogîldea.
