Traffic on national roads is proceeding normally despite winter conditions
Road traffic on national roads is ongoing despite winter conditions. However, authorities report that the roads are passable and the road surfaces are mostly dry. In some areas of the country's north, snowfall has been recorded, according to the National Road Administration (AND).
On the night of Friday, January 16, the teams from the territorial units of S.A. "Drumuri" were mobilized in the field to monitor the condition of the national road network continuously. When necessary, workers carried out road cleaning, snow removal, and the application of anti-skid material.
These interventions occurred in the districts of Florești, Soroca, Șoldănești, Glodeni, Ungheni, Ialoveni, and Căușeni, affecting several national and regional roads.
A total of 23 pieces of special equipment and 32 workers were deployed overnight, distributing approximately 120 tons of technical salt and 11 tons of anti-skid material.
During this time, authorities received six reports concerning road conditions: four through the 112 emergency service and two from the General Inspectorate for Emergencies.
The National Road Administration assures the public that it will continue to monitor the road network closely and intervene promptly as weather conditions evolve. Drivers are urged to exercise caution, adjust their speed to road conditions, and adhere to traffic regulations.
